Świętokrzyskie - gołoborz and peat bogs, loess gorges and steppe plains, wild forest backwoods and vast fields - there are few regions in Poland with such an extremely diverse nature and landscape. The richness of nature, even though humans have been taking full advantage of it for centuries, is still astonishing. Today, excellent care has been taken to preserve this wonderful heritage - as much as 62% of the area of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship is covered by various forms of nature protection, the largest number in the entire country! One of the reasons for this diversity and wealth is the complex geological structure of the region. It is also thanks to it that for many centuries, from ancient striped flint mines to modern quarries, the Świętokrzyskie Mountains and their surroundings had great economic importance.
The rich geological structure is evidenced by numerous attractions visited by tourists: caves, rock outcrops, closed quarries and gołoborz. These facilities form a tourist route marked with brown road signs. There are also boards with descriptions in Polish and English near the facilities.
Traveling along the trail is a guarantee of an unforgettable adventure. Both children and adults will find their place here. On the trail, the youngest can enjoy, among others: a visit to JuraPark in Bałtów and a trip through the corridors of Neolithic mines in Krzemionki. Adults will love seeing the world-famous tetrapod footprints in the "Zachełmie" reserve or the most beautiful, picturesque amphitheater in Poland in Kadzielnia. For both, an extraordinary attraction is the modern Geoeducation Center at the "Wietrznia" reserve in Kielce, where you can take a multimedia "Journey to the Center of the Earth" in a 5D capsule. The tour of the trail is complemented by the opportunity to explore the charming rocks and caves near Chęciny.
