When you come across an outlier or a rock outcrop in the forests of the Świętokrzyskie Mountains, you can be sure that the local people attribute it to the powers of hell.

It is no different in the case of the nature monument near Radomice. The locals say that the devil wanted to bury a church in nearby Lisów under this boulder. His plans, however, did not materialize. Suddenly the church bells rang, causing the devil to scare himself and drop a stone in the forests of Radomice.

Today we know that the rocks that make up these visible forms are Devonian quartz sandstones, which are over 400 million years old and were probably formed on the bottom of the sea, which thenflooded the area of the contemporary Świętokrzyskie Mountains.
