The red trail (also called the Millennium trail) connects the greatest tourist attractions of the Kamienna Valley. The main idea of creating this trail was to connect two centers of Marian cult: the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Gate of Dawn in Skarżysko-Kamienna with the Sanctuary of the Sorrowful Queen of Poland, Mother of the Świętokrzyskie Land in Kałków-Godów.

Hiking the trail is not difficult. The route leads along wide paths through forest areas along the Kamienna River, connecting large towns in the northern part of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, i.e. Skarżysko-Kamienna, Wąchock and Starachowice.

The trail is lowland along its entire length. Due to its course along the Kamienna River, it is very picturesque. The forest complexes of the Skarżysko-Kamienna and Starachowice Forest Districts hide numerous natural curiosities, such as the "Rydno" archaeological reserve and the "Skały w Krynki" reserve.

The trail begins in Skarżysko-Kamienna, a town associated with the Old Polish Industrial District. In the first half of the 19th century, in the city district called Rejów, a blast furnace plant was opened, which operated dynamically until 1901. Currently, the historic 19th-century building, which was once the administrative base of the "Rejów" steelworks, houses the Museum. White Eagle. The facility collects exhibits relating to the defensive war of 1939, as well as equipment and uniforms of Polish Army soldiers from the period of the September Campaign.

The red hiking trail does not lead directly past the White Eagle Museum and the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Dawn, but you can get to these objects without signs.

The trail from Skarżysko-Kamienna leads first to the "Rydno" Archaeological Reserve, which hides a complex of late Paleolithic camps unique in Europe, associated with flint processing and the extraction of hematite used to produce red dye (ochre), used for ritual purposes. The next part of the trail runs through places related to the history of iron metallurgy: Wąchock and Starachowice. In Starachowice, it is worth visiting the Museum of Nature and Technology, located on the premises of a former steelworks from the 19th century. The remains of the plant are an excellent illustration of the technological development of the 19th-century metallurgy, because they have retained their entire terrace layout and technological line. The peculiarity of the facility is the exhibition of STAR trucks with the only original replica of the Popemobile in which Pope John Paul II traveled around Poland during his pilgrimage in 1979.

In Wąchock, the remains of a complete factory complex from the 19th century have been preserved. This town is famous for jokes about the local village head, but its architectural treasure is the Cistercian Abbey founded in 1179 - one of the most beautiful examples of Romanesque architecture in Poland. East of Starachowice, thanks to the damming of the Kamienna River, the picturesque Zalew Brodzki, approximately 4 km long, was created. Rounding the reservoir, the red trail passes the "Skały w Krynki" reserve, which protects large blocks of rocks with fanciful shapes. The trail heads south towards Kałków, known for the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Sorrows. One of the most characteristic buildings of the complex is the Świętokrzyska Golgota, a 33-meter-high structure commemorating the martyrdom of the Polish nation. From the top of the building you can admire the panorama of the Łysogórski Range.

The trail ends at the bus stop in Kałków.

The trail begins at the headquarters of the PTTK Municipal Branch in Skarżysko-Kamienna, next to the building of the Municipal Cultural Center. The beginning of the trail was marked in accordance with the Instructions for marking tourist trails of the Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society and the directional sign. The trail ends in the town of Kałków at the grocery store and the Kałków Volunteer Fire Department. The end of the trail is marked in accordance with the Instructions for marking tourist trails of the Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society, i.e. with a white dot with a circle whose color corresponds to the color of the trail (red).
