In 1933, on the fifteenth anniversary of Poland regaining independence and access to the Baltic Sea, the railwaymen from Skarżysko founded an appropriate monument in the city.

He was very presentable, the pre-war press wrote about its unveiling. It stood on the square at Brzozowa Street and was perfectly visible from the windows of trains traveling along the Kielce-Radom route. The residents of the Complaints did not enjoy it for long. The obelisk was seriously damaged during the war. It was especially near its end, when the retreating Germans blew up the bridge over Kamienna. Fragments and structural elements hit the monument and smashed it - explains Artur Buńko, director of the Museum of the White Eagle.
