In the nineteenth century, the village became one of the cogs of a large industrial machine along the busy Kamienna river.

A modern metallurgical plant operated here, which soon passed into private hands. The Second World War brought an end to his activities. Currently, traces of the former industrial plant can be found in the vicinity of the reservoir on Kamienna. This reservoir has its origins in the times of the Old Polish Industrial District. A flood in the 1930s destroyed the river damming devices.

The current recreational reservoir was put into use in 2008. The area around it was turned into a recreational park - a real showcase of the city. Around it, there is a 2.5-kilometer-long promenade with benches, shelters and playgrounds for children.
