Today, Stary Korczyn remains in the shadow of the city less than 5 kilometers away. However, his pedigree is much older than that of his sister town.
According to sources, there was a parish in Stary Korczyn as early as in the 12th century. A new, brick church was founded here in the 14th century by Kazimierz the Great. The temple of impressive size consists of two parts - the older, gothic one, including the presbytery and part of the nave, and the neo-gothic part with two four-sided towers added to the western facade.
You don't have to be an art historian to distinguish an older stone-bladed part from a neo-Gothic fragment. Walking around the temple, pay attention to the south side, where you will find an interesting turret, inside which there is a staircase leading to the attic.
