If your wandering around Ponidzie has already accustomed you to the sight of Gothic churches soaring towards the sky, the temple in Szczaworyż may surprise you.

The church is distinguished from a distance by a tall tower. If you come closer, you will surely notice that the tower is not the only surprising element of this building. The building was erected in the 17th century on the site of an earlier temple with a Gothic 16th-century pedigree.

The church (apart from the aforementioned tower) consists of a short nave, to which chapels were added in the 18th century, and the chancel preserved from the previous temple. It is with this element that another curiosity of the temple is associated.

The part of the church intended for the clergy was covered with a fanciful dome with a lantern, which makes it more like a Renaissance chapel, not the most important part of the God's house.

In the main altar, your attention will certainly be drawn to the image of Our Lady of Szczaworyska, whose image is adorned with exquisitely decorated dresses - a work of the 18th century. Most of the church decorations are made in the Rococo style - look at the stucco decoration of the nave, the music choir, the pulpit or the main altar itself.
