Jan Długosz is a figure who went down in history as an excellent clergyman, chronicler and educator of the royal sons.
In his biography, this outstanding figure also has connections with Wiślica - his duties included taking care of the local collegiate church. In 1460, he erected a magnificent brick tenement house for 12 canons and 12 vicars. It is a Gothic tenement house built on the plan of an elongated rectangle. The entrance leads to the imposing size of the entrance hall. Interestingly, in this building we can find a corridor - an absolute novelty in Polish Polish architecture of that period. An interesting feature of the Długosz House is the room with original 15th-century wall paintings. The best preserved image of the risen Christ, before whom Długosz himself is kneeling, has been preserved.
