In the park among oaks, small-leaved limes, ash trees, hornbeams, birches, tulip trees, plane trees and many other rare species of trees and shrubs stand a palace designed by Warsaw architect Hugo Kundera, which Henryk Sienkiewicz received as a gift from Polish society for the 25th years of his creativity.

Author of among others "Quo Vadis", "Trylogia", "W pustyni i w puszczy" or "Janko Muzykant", the winner of the Nobel Prize in literature in 1905 treated Oblęgorek as a summer residence.

Nowadays there is a  museum in the palace devoted to the life and work of Henryk Sienkiewicz. The living room, study room, dining room, bedroom equipped with original furniture owned by the  writer, filled with family photos, numerous correspondence, portraits, books from the Olęborek old book collection, souvenirs from various travels, give the impression of the writer'sconstant presence. They allow us to see how Sienkiewicz lived, created, and worked.
