Nowa Słupia is a municipal village located in the Świętokrzyskie Mountains between the Jeleniowskie and Łysogórskie ranges.
The beginnings of the settlement are strongly connected with iron smelting developing here from the 2nd century BC to the 4th century. In the years 1351-1869 Nowa Słupia had city rights. The old urban layout with a spacious market square has been preserved to this day. It is worth seeing the church of St. Lawrence from 1678 and the building of the former hospital rectory from the 18th century called "Opatówka".
An attraction is the Cultural and Archaeological Center, opened in 2011, in which the subject of ancient iron metallurgy was presented comprehensively. On a 4-hectare area, an amphitheatre with a stage, a gate, an adit, numerous buildings of a craftsmen's village, a steelworkers' hut, a Roman camp, and Hadrian's Embankment were built. The archaeological part, where the famous "Dymarki Świętokrzyskie" i.e., a festival with over 50 years of tradition takes place every year, has been expanded.
