This town has a special place in the history of Polish tourism. In 1910 on the initiative of Aleksander Janowski, the first tourist shelter in the Kingdom of Poland was established here.
In the city of Święta Katarzyna there is a church and a monastery of Bernardine Sister. Near the church, on the edge of the forest, it is worth visiting the Janikowski family chapel known as the "Żeromski chapel". Stefan Żeromski and his school friend Jan Strożecki engraved their signaturesn on its inner wall on August 2, 1828.
Also worth seeing is the Gallery of Minerals and Fossils "Secrets of Gems", which has numerous specimens of minerals and fossils in its collectionn both from the Świętokrzyskie Mountains, Poland and around the world. Numerous hiking trails lead through Święta Katarzyna among them – the red one named after Edmund Massalski, a part of which passes through the village, climbs the highest peak of Łysogóry Mountains – Łysica Mount (614 m above sea level) and then runs towards Święty Krzyż. The route "Following the footsteps of the former narrow-gauge railway" also begins here, leading through the Świętokrzyski National Park to Nowa Słupia.
