The parish was founded by the Bishop of Kraków, John Grot, who, at the request of his brothers Goworek and Zbigniew, founded the church of st. John the Evangelist and St. Marty.
It is not known how long the original temple survived. We do know, however, that in 1644 a new larch church was built. However, over time, it also fell into disrepair. In the years 1803-1816, a brick church was erected from the purchased remains of the castle in nearby Gorzyczany. In the temple, the 15th-century painting of the Sacra Conversatione type, depicting Mary, St. John the Evangelist and St. Marta, as well as pictures of St. Joseph Kalasanty and Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception from around the middle of XIX century, transferred after 1873 from the church of oo Piarists in Radom.
