It is a place that mesmerizes people every season of the year with a symphony of colours of the surrounding nature. It’s perfect for a walk, picnic and relaxation in the shadows of the trees. If you want to entertain yourself with the view of Pińczów and Nida valley, you should definitely go for a walk on the St. Anna Mountain.
The chapel on the Saint Anna Mountain was stitched into the landscape of Pińczów by an outstanding Italian architect - Santi Gucci, who felt in the meadows of Nida, as if he was in the familiar fields of Tuscany. Margrave Zygmunt Myszkowski took a liking to the project of the chapel and together with members of the Brotherhood of St. Anna funded it on the hill close to Pińczów between the 16th and 17th century. The chapel was built from a native rock called “pińczak”.
It was the first freestanding dome chapel in Poland for purely religious usage. Throughout the years the chapel has been damaged, but frequent renovations managed to keep it in a perfect state. These days you can go for walks around the chapel, but you can visit it twice a year - during the 26 of July’s celebrations of St. Anna and on the 2nd of May, during an event that focuses on singing Marian Songs.
