What you can be today. After World War II, the community of Opatów was composed of commanders to settle and collapse, welcoming the lives of passers-by and residents.

The reason for this was the cellars that the merchants from Opatów had dug centuries ago to store valuable goods - including spices, wine, beer, furs and salt. In the sixteenth century, the city was built by Krzysztof with defensive walls, and there was no warehouse space.

Merchants, wanting to match the city's location along the old routes, dig deeper and deeper, creating a new one for the city. In the 1970s, it was taken at a specific location in a location on the ground.

The method developed by professor Zbigniew Strzelecki and the hard work of Silesian miners helped in this. Currently, tourists are visiting an underground tourist route with a length of approx. 500 meters. It consists of 48 cellars and tunnels and leads through 3 levels. The lowest cellar is located 14.5 meters below the market square. During the tour of the multimedia exhibition "Golden Age of Opatów" you will get to know the city from the times of light.
