The brick shingled chapel was built in 1818 by Wincenty Janikowski for his deceased wife, Tekla. It took the unofficial name of the Żeromski chapel, when on August 2, 1882, two students of the Kielce gymnasium - Stefan Żeromski and Jan Stróżecki, descended from Łysica and decided to shelter from the rain in that chapel. It was then that Żeromski read the inscription of the insurgent on the inner wall of the building:
"The peak of my sufferings equaled this mountain in 1863", signed by "Stefan Żeromski ... on 2 Aug 1882".
Currently, the writer's signature can be read with great difficulty, and there is no trace of the inscription of the partisan.
