If you like rock climbing, the name "Stokówka" certainly reminds you of a place full of routes ideal for more or less demanding training. However, remember that this former quarry is also worth visiting for other reasons.
The popular Stokówka is nothing more than a deep fissure crossing the Zelejowskie range of the Świętokrzyskie Mountains. Just a walk between the rock walls, the height of which reaches up to 20 meters, can be a real attraction for seekers of interesting places and unique photographic locations.
Geology enthusiasts, on the other hand, will be interested in the history of this place. In the quarry located here, until the 1960s, calcite was mined. This raw material was selected along the fault zone. For these works, blasting techniques were used - subsequent parts of the deposit were successively "shot" from the rest, gradually extending the excavation.
Today, this place is protected as a natural monument. On spring, summer and autumn weekends you will meet climbing enthusiasts here - also from outside the Świętokrzyskie region. On the "rocks" there are several dozen climbing routes of varying difficulty.
