In 1624 the Eremus Silvae Aureae – Golden Forest Hermitage was built for the Camaldolese Congregation of Monte Corona near the town of Rytwiany.
At that time the church of Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, monastery and farm buildings and the hermitage, i.e. a group of hermitage houses were built. Currently the Hermitage of the Golden Forest is the first therapeutic center in Poland established on the basis of a former Camaldolese monastery, which specializes in conducting therapy for people at risk of the effects of civilization, including workaholism, shopaholism, networkaholism etc. Additional attractions of the Hermitage are the Kamedulska Gallery, the museum of the "Black Clouds" series and the monastery gardens.
