There are no showcases or slightly dusty shelves in this remarkable open-air museum. Here the exhibits are ... trees.
The name of the place itself is derived from the Latin word arbor, meaning tree. In Marceli you will see not only trees but also shrubs. In total, almost 600 species have been collected. The oldest tree is Marcel - a pedunculate oak that got its name from children visiting the arboretum. Those in the arboretum learn to distinguish between the different species of plants found in the arboretum.
Among them, we can find both native species and those that come from a temperate climate zone. The latter are the subject of careful research. Scientists observe how they react to the new environment, especially in the winter months. The moorland recreated in the arboretum is very impressive. It amazes with the number of colors - yellow, red, orange and pink. The kids feel great in the arboretum. They will find boards and educational sites that will allow them to get acquainted with the world of plants. In the educational farm, they can look at the animals of Polish villages and forests.
