The Klimontów synagogue stands in the center of the town, reminding of the former inhabitants of this small town.
The synagogue is the only clearly preserved trace of the Jewish community, which was an inseparable element of the city from the beginning of its foundation in the 17th century. The end of the Klimontów shtetl was brought about by the tragic events of World War II.
Today the synagogue stands abandoned. It is worth seeing it even from the outside. The front of the synagogue makes a harmonious impression thanks to the 4 classical columns that support the cornice surrounding the whole building. Thanks to these treatments, the building brings to mind more ancient temples than a 19th-century building. The main entrance was closed in a semicircle. Two symmetrically arranged flights of stairs led to the women's gallery. Inside, there is a niche for Aron Kodesh, i.e. an altar cabinet for storing Torah scrolls.
