On August 18, 1925, the sculpture of Tadeusz Kościuszko, prepared by the sculptor Władysław Czapliński from Łódź, was officially unveiled.

The statue is made of red sandstone. The statue of Tadeusz Kościuszko was placed on a mound on a stone base. Unfortunately, during World War II, the sculpture was thrown from the pedestal, and a hotel for the Gestapo was built in the place of the statue.

Fortunately, one of the inhabitants hid the statue and it was only thanks to him that it survived. And so, in 1946, a new design for the monument was made by J. Szostakiewicz. The new monument in the shape of a rectangular column crowned with six scythes was made of white sandstone. A found and restored statue of T. Kościuszko was placed in the center. The monument stands in front of the building of the General Secondary School, near the original location of the monument.
