This oldest toy museum in Poland is housed in a building built in 1872.
Years ago, there were shops, service establishments and butcher's shops here. In the museum on an area of 631 square meters, there are several thousand exhibits: historical, ethnographic and contemporary toys, models of cars, airplanes and ships, dolls, doll rooms or furniture sets. The most valuable collection are historical toys, the oldest of which is a German wax doll from the end of the 18th century. Passing through the monumental gate one enters the world of children.
Visiting the museum is an extraordinary adventure for the youngest and a journey back to childhood and early youth for the elderly. Here we will find out what children played with in the 18th, 19th and early 20th centuries, where the toys were bought and who was producing them. Here we will see heroes from many series and animated films for children, such as Miś Uszatek or Colargol. The museum also invites you to the second seat which is the Pharmacy of Imagination, where workshops are held, for example "How to become a detective?" or "Experience with a legend".
There is also Manufaktura słodyczy & Kawiarnia Magia Karmelu (Sweets Manufactory & Magic Carmel Café), where everyone can see how colourful lollipops and candies are made in a magical way and without the use of machines.
