Ciekoty is a small town closely related to Stefan Żeromski, an outstanding prose writer and journalist who spent his childhood and youth here.

Unfortunately, the manor house, inhabited by the Żeromski family in 1871-1883, was completely burnt down in 1900. Today, there is an educational center in this place, consisting of two curiosities linking the past with the present. One of them is a wooden manor house in which objects commemorating the writer's life and work are displayed. The second is the Glass House, a modern building for the presentation of art and the implementation of educational programs.
