The history of the parish dates back to 1440, when a wooden church was erected on Góra Siedliska. In the 16th century, the relics of the Holy Cross Tree were brought to the parish. They were placed in a silver cross-shaped reliquary with a relief of Christ and the symbols of the four Evangelists, funded by Mikołaj Ostrowski.

In 1646, thanks to the efforts of Fr. Wojciech Liszkowicz and the generosity of parishioners replaced the new brick church with a wooden one. The following years are the next changes. The present appearance of the temple is largely due to the activities of Fr. August Żołątkowski, who carried out many renovation works since taking over the parish in 1853. Among other things, he renovated altars, paintings, pews, confessionals, and made stone stairs in front of the temple. In 1866 he founded and built a new cemetery.

In 1870, because the church was too small to accommodate the faithful, Fr. Augustus, with the help of parishioners, enlarged the temple and built a belfry. In 2014, the relics of St. Rafał Kalinowski. The ceremony started the development of the cult of saints and blesseds in the parish in Brzeziny. Since then, new relics of patrons have been coming to the temple.
