The beginnings of the Marian cult in Czarna go back to the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries. Then the Virgin Mary appeared on the juniper bush to the workers working on the burning of charcoal.

In the place of the apparition, right on the Czarna River, the inhabitants of the settlement built a chapel with a painting painted by an unknown author.

The fame of the miraculous image grew among the local residents. From year to year there were more and more pilgrims, whom the small chapel could not accommodate. Then Izabela Małachowska, having obtained permission (on March 16, 1763) from the then Archbishop of Gniezno, Władysław Łubieński, the Primate of Poland, commissioned the construction of a brick church (a small church), to which the miraculous painting was transferred.

The number of the faithful who wanted to pray before Mary increased from year to year. In 1980, on the initiative of Bishop Ordinary Sandomierski, Piotr Gołębiowski, efforts were made to crown the image of Our Lady of Czarnecka.

These plans were realized by Fr. Jan Kudłacik, since 1990 pastor of the Czarna parish. What Bishop Piotr Gołębiowski talked about and wanted fervently became a fact. On June 4, 1991, the Holy Father John Paul II consecrated the crowns in Radom. Eight years later, Card. Józef Glemp, the Primate of Poland, coronated the Miraculous Image of the Mother of God the Educator.
