The village of Modliborzyce belonged to the Benedictine Monastery on the Holy Cross at least from the 14th century. The original temple survived until the mid-15th century, when it was no longer suitable for religious activities.
In 1444, a new brick church. st. Benedykt was built by Master Bartłomiej from Opatów. The parish church of st. Benedict, destroyed during World War II, was rebuilt in 1949-1955. The solemn consecration of the rebuilt temple took place in 1960.
The church is an oriented, gothic building with eclectic transformations. In the north porch there is a gothic, stone, pointed portal. From the outside, in the eastern wall of the presbytery, in the pointed recess, there is a sculpture of the Sorrowful Christ.
