Świętokrzyskie Mountains ... can the mountain range, the highest peak of which is 614 meters above sea level, give a sense of space?

Will you experience views of the vast valleys and the dominant hills during your hiking tour? If these questions are on your mind, there is no other option - you have to go.

Where? There are many possibilities, and one of them is Barbarka, a small hill on the road between Michniów and Wzdół Rządowe. There is a brick chapel of Saint Barbara - the patron saint of miners. Therefore, it is not difficult to guess that the local residents who worked in the extraction and processing of iron ore honored their guardian in this way. There are many legends and stories connected with the chapel.

The most popular of them speak of a treasure buried under it. Who left the valuables here? Some say that the January insurgents, others that they were brothers fleeing the Swedes and even Tatars. Is the legend of the treasure true? We probably won't find out. The treasure is certainly the unusual view that stretches from under the hill with the chapel. Here you will see the Klonowskie Range, from behind which you can see Łysogóry and Łysica - the highest hill in the whole Świętokrzyskie Mountains.
