For centuries Pińczów was a private town. He belonged to many powerful families that have permanently entered the history of not only Pińczów, but also the entire country.

One of these families was the Wielopolski family. The Classicist palace, now the building of a general secondary school, was erected in the 18th century by Franciszek Wielopolski. Together with the farm buildings, the building has become a part of the city panorama - it stands at the foot of Góra Zamkowa.

It is a two-story building with one wing on the north side. Peace, order and harmony emanate from the façade of the palace - features typical of classicist buildings. The pediment is separated by a cornice. The windows are decorated with floral motifs. The bas-reliefs presenting scenes taken from mythology refer to ancient traditions. The image of the eagle and the coat of arms gracefully named "Starykoń", which belonged to the founder of the palace, also draw attention.
