The Abbot's House in Nowa Słupia

The building, commonly known as Opatówka by the inhabitants of Nowa Słupia, rises on a slope by the road leading to Święty Krzyż.

Opatówka is proof that the Benedictines living in Łysiec took care of the well-being of pilgrims and the local population. Already in the sixteenth century, abbot Michał Maliszewski founded a "hospital rectory", that is a wooden hospital and church. St. Michael. The hospital looked after the elderly residents. Another, this time brick, buildings were built here in the 18th century - the walls of the already demolished church adjoined the abbot's house.
