Heap of Blast Furnaces in Starachowice

Over the years, the heap was formed from poured blast furnace slag from the Blast Furnace.

Starachowice, like many other towns on the Kamienna River, owes its past to the plans of Stanisław Staszic, who in the 19th century wanted to create a series of iron factories on the Kamienna River. Further industrial plants were built along the river, which, in line with its course, followed the sequence of the iron production process.

Two plants producing pig iron, which were sent for further processing, were established in Starachowice. The younger one comes from 1841. The older one is a perfectly preserved blast furnace from 1899 with a complete technological line.
