The monument commemorates the 68 soldiers of the 2nd Legions Infantry Regiment, AK and BCh who died on July 30, 1944 in the largest and most tragic partisan battle with German units of the 4th Panzer Army.
On the commemorative plaque funded by Kombatants, the Head of the Commune and the Commune Council in Wilczyce, there is an inscription: "This is where the flower of the youth of Sandomierz and the surrounding area fell, The First Battalion of the 2nd Infantry Regiment of the Home Army Legions and the Peasant Battalions Storm action".
