When visiting the temple in Kunów, it is worth going to the nearby cemetery. You will find many historic sculptures testifying to the craftsmanship of local stonemasons. Also pay attention to a slightly more modest grave, which testifies to the turbulent history of the Kunów area.
A stone tombstone crowned with a cross commemorates 38 January insurgents who fell in the battle of Janik-Sadłowizna. The clash took place on December 16, 1863. At that time, a 300-strong insurgent unit was cornered and defeated by troops led by Colonel Macniew.
