Very often, when visiting a historic temple, we will find elements of equipment that are much older than the churches themselves.

The church in Mirc was built in the 19th century. The modest and simple form of the temple hides many treasures and monuments inside.

The most valuable of them is the image of Saint Leonard from the 15th century, painted on a board. He is surrounded by 4 angels, and the saint himself - the patron of prisoners, prisoners and slaves - holds shackles in his hand. According to tradition, the image was moved from the old church in Mirc, whose history dates back to the Middle Ages.

The main altar is decorated with the image of the Mother of God and baby Jesus surrounded by saints - the inquisitive recognize the saints here: Anna, Joachim and Joseph.

Interestingly, in the aisle, just above the painting of the Mother of God, you will also find a painting of Saint Barbara. It is rightly associated with mining. How did this figure end up in the Mirzec temple? Well, it is worth knowing that iron ore mines were still operating in the area in the 19th and 20th centuries.
