Many tourists visiting the vicinity of Sandomierz pass by this place indifferently. Many wonder what remains of the crude reinforced concrete skeleton at the abandoned railway stop.

Enthusiasts of urbex and industrial facilities from the times of the Central Industrial District will be particularly interested in this place.

A modern glassworks was established near Sandomierz in the interwar period. A gas pipeline was quickly connected to the plant, and in May 1939 - also a railway line. It was supposed to transport employees of the plant - it was planned that almost a quarter of a thousand people would eventually find employment here.

The plans were interrupted by World War II. However, the Germans did not destroy the plant - they took it over and used it to produce glass for their own use. The building was ruined by Red Army soldiers in 1944.

After World War II, the glassworks was not rebuilt - the glass production plants were moved to the right bank of Sandomierz.

Today, in addition to the reinforced concrete skeleton of the main production hall, you will see a barrack from the times of the People's Republic of Poland, when a fruit and vegetable cooperative operated on the site of the former steelworks.
