The history of the local church dates back over 600 years, during which successive owners of Sancygniów left memorabilia and architectural elements that make up this interesting building, combining many styles.
To get to know the treasures that the temple hides, you must necessarily look inside. Already in the porch, the first reason for admiration will come from the 16th century late-Renaissance multi-story tombstone of Jan Sancygniowski and his wife Anna.
The depiction of the spouses, who seem to be sleeping soundly, is characterized by a very high artistic level, attention to detail and an extremely intricate reproduction of human facial expressions. It is these intricate details that allow us to assume that the tombstone was made in the studio of the famous artist Santi Gucci in Pińczów.
The same origin is attributed to the baptismal font, the sacramentarium and the portal that leads from the chancel to the sacristy. The portal is crowned with a very successful puta figure, vases and a coat of arms cartouche with the initials of Jakub Sancygniowski.
Inside the temple, pay attention to the 19th-century black marble tombstone, which commemorates the resting place of the then owners of Sancygniów - Stefan Dembowski and his wife Ewa.
