Although the palace and the surrounding park are currently not open to the public, when wandering through the picturesque Ponidzie, it is worth planning one of the routes so that it leads near this interesting complex.
Over the charming pond stretches a large palace and park complex, which includes several buildings erected here in various architectural styles by successive owners of Sancygniów.
Already in the second half of the 16th century, Jan Sancygniowski built the first modest residence here. The Renaissance building, today slightly overshadowed by a much larger palace, is a two-story mansion built on a square plan. In the 17th century, it served as an Arian church, and then as a court shed, armory, and even a private museum of Zofia Deskur.
The next owners of Sancygniów, the Firlejs, started building their administrative seat here, which today is a building from the 17th century, with a late-Renaissance gate adjoining it.
Adjacent to the gate is also the largest building in the entire complex - a palace from the second half of the 19th century built thanks to the efforts of the then owner of these lands - Andrzej Deskur.
The 19th-century gate, which you will see near the previously mentioned former Arian church, also stands out.
As befits a real residence, it is surrounded by a park with the remains of the 16th and 17th century fortifications.
