Tarnowski palace complex in Piotrkowice

Hardly any driver who is speeding along the national road running through Piotrkowice today pays attention to the wall behind which there is a hill overgrown with trees. It is worth knowing that at its top there are fragments of a very interesting park complex.

The poor health of Joachim Tarnowski's son, Stanisław, most likely contributed to the creation of Tarnoskała. The boy was born in a castle in nearby Maleszowa. The damp castle, situated on an island, was not a good home for a sickly boy, however.

The construction of "Tarnoskały", as this object is commonly called, was probably started in the 18th century. It is worth knowing that the design of the residence itself was quite unique for Polish conditions. Instead of one palace building, as many as 4 pavilions were erected here (3 of them have survived to our times, standing harmoniously around the courtyard).

On the other hand, a bench carved in stone located in the depths of the park is quite romantic. Called the "princess's bench", it is often visited by lovers.
