Although the history of the parish in Pierzchnica dates back many centuries, the present temple has a much younger history.
Documents from the 14th century confirm the existence of a parish in Pierzchnica. Jan Długosz, a chronicler and historian from the 15th century, writes about the wooden church of St. Margaret.
The church lasted for centuries surrounded by more or less care. Documents from the eighteenth century say that its condition was not the best, and the furnishings were modest. Most likely, the temple was already too small for the growing needs of the parish. At the end of the century, Maciej Sołtyk and his wife, Małgorzata, founded a new church. It stands to this day in a different place than the original temple, which was finally demolished in 1840.
The present church impresses with the calmness of its neoclassical façade and the simple layout of the rectangular nave and chancel closed with an apse.
Inside, note the 4 altars. One of the side altars, depicting the crucifixion scene, comes from the former temple in Pierzchnica.
