On a steep rock promontory above the Opatówka River, there is a characteristic defensive tower that remembers the glory days of Tudor.
It is worth knowing that the first mentions of Tudors and Castrum Tudors date back to the 14th century. Information about the town can be found in ... court files. The dispute concerned the knight Pełka from the Janin family, who was supposed to arbitrarily stop the water of the Opatówka River.
We also know that in the 16th century, Jan Tudorowski sold the castle to the Great Chancellor of the Crown, Krzysztof Szydlowiecki. The building itself ceased to fulfill its defensive functions two centuries later - mainly due to the rapid development of artillery techniques.
A high defensive tower, built on a square plan, has survived to our times. Traces inside indicate that it had as many as 6 storeys. In the upper parts you will see window openings and arrowslits.
