A huge boulder with a commemorative plaque commemorates Józef Piłsudski's stay in Wólka Tarłowska. It was placed in front of the house in the middle of the village where the commander was stationed.
The famous 1st brigade of the Polish Legions under the command of Piłsudski arrived here at the end of June 1915.
It is worth mentioning that on June 30 - July 2, 1915, the so-called Battle of Tarłów took place. In the victorious clash against the Russian troops, the legionnaires fought for the strongly fortified Tarłowo redoubt and the bridge over the Vistula River. It is worth mentioning that this battle is commemorated with an inscription on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Warsaw,
The plaque was unveiled in 1938, and the ceremony itself became the beginning of patriotic manifestations of local residents. During World War II, the plaque was removed, and its faithful copy was returned to its place in the 1990s.
