A historic farmstead, reminiscent of an open-air museum, is a place where time stopped in the 19th and early 20th centurie
The building is one of the so-called in situ facilities. What does it mean? It is a historic building, which was not moved to the open-air museum, but remained "in its place". This does not mean that the farm is left to itself - the Museum of the Kielce Countryside watches over it.
The Bodzentyńska Zagroda Czernikiewiczów is an example of an interesting, wooden architecture in the small towns of the Kielce region, whose inhabitants worked mainly in agriculture. It was the profession of the hosts that gave shape to the entire establishment.
The atmospheric farm consists of a residential building, farm buildings and a coach house. The whole is arranged on a quadrilateral plan, which is additionally closed by a wooden fence. The buildings covered with shingles are made of wood, which is often found here.
It is worth knowing that the farm buildings were not built at the same time. The oldest parts of the farm were built in 1809. The residential rooms were built later - in the second half of the 19th century and in the 1920s.
Although the farms are no longer inhabited by farmers today, you can go inside and see how local small-town, middle-class farmers lived in the past centuries.
