It is a new place on the educational and touristic map for the region.
The complex is made of four buildings, there is the auditory hall, a restaurant, didactical facilities and laboratories (chemical, microscope, computer, geophysical, geological mapping and hydrogeological), hotel and the conference facility.
The ECGE has at its disposal about 6500m2 of climatized surface, 300 conference seats (240 seats in the main hall and 60 in the chamber hall) and 170 hotel beds.
The center was established in 2015 as a scientific and research branch of the Faculty of Geology of the University of Warsaw. It is located exactly in the place where the Rzepka quarry in Korzecko, near Chęciny, used to operate. It is a facility open to people from other universities.
