The rich past of this poviat town is evidenced by the chessboard urban layout preserved to this day, the center of which is the town square with an interesting town hall.
For centuries, Staszów was known for pottery flourishing in these parts. The city owes its significant development to Augustus Aleksander Czartoryski, the creator of the power of this family known in the history of Poland. Today, the history of the city is remembered by the one-story, brick town hall with a tower adorning the middle of a high, hip roof. The longer façades on the eastern and western sides are decorated with arcades. Although there is no trace of the former merchants and craftsmen, you can still enter the interior of the former town hall, where the restaurant is located. Around the town square you will find several interesting tenement houses that still remember the times of August Aleksander Czartoryski. Pay attention especially to the eastern frontage of the town square, where there are tenement houses with arcade-shaped passage gates, which perfectly match the arcades of the town hall.
