Between the carriageways of one of the busiest streets in Kielce there is a former synagogue.
Currently unused at the beginning of the 20th century, it served the Jewish community living in Kielce. Originally, the building was erected in the Neo-Romanesque style. The rather austere walls did not betray the intricately made, symbolic decorations decorating the interior of the building. After the destruction of World War II, the building was rebuilt in the spirit of socialist realism.
Currently, the synagogue is waiting for development. Around the synagogue you will find a memorial plaque dedicated to the victims of the Kielce ghetto. The wall with the names of the Righteous Among the Nations - Poles who helped Jews during World War II - is symbolic in its meaning.
