The name of the town, Wierna Rzeka, is also the title of a novel by Stefan Żeromski about the history of a wounded January insurgent from 1863, hiding in an abandoned and ruined manor house and cared for by a young noblewoman.
The village of Wierna Rzeka is an area closely related to the family of Stefan Żeromski, the father of the writer Wincenty, until 1858, managed the village of Ruda Zajączkowska.
