A building from the 12th century, an example of early sacred architecture in Poland, significantly expanded at the beginning of the 20th century in the neo-Gothic style, according to a design by Stefan Szyller.

Considered as twin to the church of St. Idzi in Inowłódz, was a model for the reconstruction activities carried out there. Originally, the temple was in the Romanesque style, only in the first half of the 15th century was it transformed into the late-Gothic style. The fire that destroyed the church in 1893 meant that it was rebuilt. Despite the passage of time, the temple has retained the features of the old styles.
