St. Hubert, bishop of the diocese of Liege in Belgium, the patron saint of hunters, foresters and horsemen, was placed on Góra Kozłowa not accidentally.
It stands on the royal hunting trail of Casimir III the Great, the last ruler of the Piast dynasty. The king's fate is inextricably linked with Przedbórz and impassable forests full of animals, in which he hunted passionately. According to the chronicle of Janek of Czarnków, during one of such deer hunts in 1370, the king fell off his horse and injured his left leg. This event led to a fever and then the death of the ruler on November 5, 1370.
