Wincenty Kadłubek - the author of the chronicle of the history of Poland - came to Jędrzejów in the fall of 1217. The chronicler did not leave this place anymore - he died in 1223, surrounded by the walls of a Cistercian monastery.

This is a known fact from the history of the Master. The place of his birth remains a mystery. According to local tradition, he was born in a house that stood on the site where it is now built in 1995. On the commemorative plaque you can read the most important facts from the life of the first Polish scientist known by name. There is a spring next to the chapel. The locals attribute the power to heal eye diseases as it flows out here.
