Ruins of the blast furnace in Rejów

In 1770, on the site of the old furnace in Rejów, a new blast furnace with a fryer was built. The builder was master Henryk Szober, who had previously built blast furnaces in the property of the bishops of Kraków and a furnace in Bzin.

In 1838, a blast furnace plant was launched. It was built under the steel industry plan. The investor was the Bank of Poland established 10 years earlier by the Minister of the Treasury of the Kingdom of Poland, Franciszek Ksawery, Prince Drucki-Lubecki.

At that time, Rejów was a settlement with considerable metallurgical traditions. Rejowski blast furnace, it operated dynamically until 1901. The remains of this plant are looked after by the Museum of The White Eagle in Skarżysko-Kamienna.
