The quiet town on the Czarna Taraska river does not reveal its industrial history. A certain indication, however, is the mill located on the premises of a private farm.
Centuries ago, there was a water forge in Kawęczyn, and in the 19th century - a blast furnace. The conditions for the operation of the plants were very favorable here. There were iron ore mines nearby. Coal was provided by the surrounding forests, and the energy to drive the machines was provided by the hardworking Czarna Taraska river.
The mill, where the farmers now produce cattle fodder, stands on the site of a former fryszery, i.e. a plant where pig iron from the blast furnace was cleaned of unnecessary admixtures. Inside, most of the devices necessary for the operation of the mill have been preserved. Both hydropower and charcoal were used to power them.
