The created reservoir is picturesquely situated in the Wilkowksia Valley at the foot of Góra Radostowa, at the gorge of the Lubrzanka River. Stefan Żeromski spent his childhood years here
parents rented the village from 1869. The pyramidal shape of Łysica, the highest hill in the Świętokrzyskie Mountains, dominates the reservoir in the distance.
